Responsibilities include:

  • Lead our Sustainability program, including ensuring a Sustainability vision and mission for Fortive that reflects our Shared Purpose and Values.  Ensure a high-level strategy, updated as appropriate, exists to support that vision. Conduct Materiality Assessments, as necessary, incorporating “Double Materiality” philosophies.
  • Lead our efforts, in collaboration with OpCos and functions, on public Sustainability disclosures including the annual Sustainability Report, CDP and other disclosures.  Continue and strengthen alignment to recognized reporting frameworks including, but not limited to: GRI, SASB, TCFD, UNGC and others. Help improve Sustainability scores from external ratings providers.  Assist the Legal and Finance teams with respect to compliance with SEC climate disclosure rules, CSRD and related disclosure requirements globally.
  • In collaboration with the Sustainability and Tax teams, oversee the operation of The Fortive Foundation, including its mission, giving strategies, relationships with key charitable partners, gift giving, employee and community relations, and employee matching programs.
  • Oversee Fortive’s achievement of its stated environmental and climate-related goals, including GHG emissions reduction goals and water reduction goals, in addition to future goals as they are implemented.  Oversee the process for operating companies to receive corporate assistance in Sustainability projects.  Assist in approving project proposals, considering factors such as cost effectiveness, technical feasibility, and integration with other initiatives.
  • Serve as a member of Fortive’s EHS Leadership Council as the internal leader and “go to” expert for Sustainability, monitoring emerging trends, programs and issues, and communicating and educating others on Sustainability topics.
  • Serve as the central point of contact for interfaces with stakeholders on the topic of Sustainability, including investors, employees, customers and others.
  • Foster a culture of Sustainability through ongoing organizational communications, engagement, and education.  Create and implement communication strategies to publicize the company’s Sustainability efforts and promote broad awareness of Sustainability initiatives, both internally and externally.
  • Offer expertise and provide leadership-level support for initiatives to reduce company-wide resource consumption and waste generation.
  • Provide support and guidance to Product Design teams through Life Cycle Assessments, Sustainable Design, and other considerations to develop and implement strategy towards greater energy efficiency and reduced environmental impact of operating company products and services.
  • Build effective partnerships with external organizations to support Sustainability efforts.
  • Oversee development and implementation of Climate-risk strategy that incorporates qualitative and quantitative climate scenario analysis. Conduct Sustainability-related risk assessments.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the Sustainability team. Oversee multiple concurrent initiatives across various segments of the team's focus. Prioritize team members tasks and maintain a clear understanding of project importance to drive efficiency and effectiveness in Fortive's sustainability endeavors.

Requirements:

Education:  Bachelors Degree.

Experience: 10+ years of experience, either through outside consulting, internal corporate positions or a combination, in designing, implementing and promoting corporate Sustainability programs.

    • PC skills to include Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint)
    • Knowledge and experience with recognized reporting frameworks, including GRI, SASB, TCFD, UNGC
    • Greenhouse Gas Protocol Accounting and Reporting Standards
    • Familiarity with large-scale renewable energy procurement, including RE markets and contracting for PPAs, VPPAs, Green Tariffs and other methods.

    • Able to differentiate between conflicting priorities and issues to identify underlying causes
    • Demonstrate ability to manage multiple tasks and assess priorities effectively
  • Interaction with Others
    • Works closely with company executives, managing directors, plant managers, facility directors Sales and Marketing personnel, engineering and EHS personnel as well as customers
    • Consistently exhibits company values in all interactions with associates and customers

Salary

The salary range for this position is $189,175-$351,325. Base pay offered may vary depending on various factors, including, but not limited to: job-related knowledge; skills; experience; and other eligibility factors such as geographic location. The Total Rewards package includes competitive base pay and an opportunity to enroll in a variety of benefit programs, generally including health insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and several programs that provide for both paid and unpaid time away from work.

Bonus or Equity: This position is also eligible for bonus and equity as part of the total compensation package.
