Job Description

Opportunity at a GlanceAs the Senior Specialist, Global Impact & Sustainability Reporting ("Sr. Spec.") you will help compile, assess, measure, message, report and disclose Adtalem's efforts to operate with purpose and responsibility. The role requires experience developing and drafting content aligned with ESG/sustainability reporting standards and frameworks and the technical understanding to communicate complex topics and metrics to a variety of stakeholders. The Sr. Spec. will report to the Director, Global Impact & Sustainability and is an active member of Adtalem's Global Impact team. Positioned within the Global Communications & Corporate Affairs department, the Sr. Spec. partners with the team, as well as subject matter experts across Adtalem's corporate office and family of academic institutions, to leverage sustainability initiatives, data and reporting as an avenue for telling Adtalem's global impact story.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Adtalem’s external and internal sustainability reporting and messaging, including content creation, to help advance Adtalem’s Global Impact and Sustainability strategies and align with best practice.
  • Lead processes across departments and institutions to collect accurate sustainability-related data (to include social and philanthropic impact metrics), including data validation and assurance processes.
  • Project manage the development and production of annual sustainability report, coordinating with numerous content providers across business units and third-party consultants to manage various streams of work that support report development while ensuring messaging alignment with the brand narrative.
  • Develop an ESG/sustainability-related message framework and disclosures for corporate communications, including investor communications, annual proxy statement, financial reports, and other regulatory disclosures.
  • Manage external ESG/sustainability data profiles, to include drafting responses and submissions to key ESG/sustainability ratings, rankings, surveys, and similar requests.
  • Monitor ESG disclosure requirements, standards, and frameworks (e.g., SEC, SASB, UN SDGs) to track emerging regulations and trends, and develop recommendations to address them and ensure alignment.
  • Lead the development of an internal global impact and sustainability performance dashboard for regular tracking of KPIs.
  • Collaborate across the Global Communications & Corporate Affairs function to support delivery and messaging of Adtalem’s Global Impact priorities and progress to best leverage this information in Adtalem's brand narrative.
  • Support the preparation of leadership and board presentations for sustainability governance.
  • Facilitate agenda development and supporting materials for regular Sustainability Working Group and similar cross-functional meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent experience required.
  • 5+ years in corporate sustainability, ESG or social impact, data management or analysis, or a similar field required.
  • Experience with the preparation, project management and publication of corporate sustainability or impact reports.
  • Detail oriented, with strong quantitative skills to analyze, interpret and present data while maintaining a storytelling mindset through exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Inquisitive mind with a passion for sustainability reporting, including social impact messaging.
  • In-depth knowledge of ESG reporting frameworks and methodologies, to include SASB, GRI, TCFD and UN SDGs, as well as ESG rankers and analysts, such as Sustainalytics, ISS and MSCI.
  • Track record of working as part of cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to conduct background research and communicate findings in a clear and succinct manner.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Strong problem-solver with proven critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Flexible and action-oriented, with an ability to adapt to changing situations.
  • Works well under pressure in an extremely fast-paced environment; possesses a strong work ethic and sound judgment.
  • Contributes to a culture of innovation, social impact, and exemplary organizational performance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in a matrixed organization preferred.

Salary & Benefits

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $51,962 and $93,918. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
