The Manager of Partner Development reports to the Director of Partner Development and works to establish and reach major revenue goals on behalf of GWC. As a member of the Development Team, the Manager will be instrumental in researching and converting brand new corporate prospects into confirmed corporate partnerships. The Manager will leverage an existing prospect pipeline and use industry tools to generate new leads, as well as develop and execute a comprehensive sales plan for discrete programs or products, in conjunction with the broader revenue cycle.

The ideal candidate has at least four (4) years of professional experience and at least two (2) years of demonstrated experience in prospecting and cultivating high-impact partner and/or client relationships. They are goal-oriented with a proven track record in driving revenue through securing sponsorships from corporations and meeting or exceeding quarterly revenue targets. They bring experience working with diverse stakeholders from a wide range of backgrounds and industries. They thrive in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities and are driven by meeting and exceeding fundraising or revenue goals.

This is a full-time, New York City-based position, to start as soon as possible.

Candidates must meet the requirement of our hybrid remote work policy, which requires 2 in-office days per week. This is not a virtual/fully remote position.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute data-informed strategies to meet and exceed annual revenue goals
  • Use both personal touches and mass communication strategies and tools, such as Yesware and Zendesk, to conduct extensive outreach to cold and warm prospects
  • Drive moves management for assigned leads by conducting persistent targeted pitches and follow-ups to high yield prospects about existing programs, products and opportunities
  • Use analytics to qualify corporate giving potential from prospects, inform customized follow up strategies, and track effectiveness of moves management with prospects
  • Leverage Salesforce to accurately track prospects and progress toward closing gifts
  • Prepare compelling pitch decks, scripts, assets, and deliverables for use in sizable corporate pitches
  • In collaboration with the Development Operations team, build and cultivate a robust pipeline of corporate prospect leads through continuous lead research using tools such as ZoomInfo and iWave
  • Leverage analytics of lead prospecting outputs, progress, and outcomes
  • Maintain an accurate database of Salesforce records
  • Identify opportunities to represent Girls Who Code at targeted meetings, community events and conferences as needed to increase brand recognition and build the corporate prospect pipeline
  • Support the facilitation of discovery and pitch meetings for CEO and/or Chief Development Officer with senior level corporate executives
  • Collaborate with fellow members of the Development Team 1) to ensure a smooth transfer of new corporate partnership ownership to respective Partner Engagement Reps, and 2) to improve the efficiency of team’s systems, processes, and fundraising strategies as the organization continues to scale
  • Work closely with the Director of Partner Development to spearhead cross-team collaboration, including 1) collaborating with the Marketing team to develop assets, ensure sponsorship activation for corporate partners, and create cause marketing opportunities, and 2) collaborating with the Programs Team to discover areas of potential programming growth that can lead to sponsorships

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of professional experience with 2 years of applicable experience in fundraising, business development, partner management, sales, and/or maintaining a robust pipeline of prospects
  • Proven track record in closing 5-7 figure sales or gifts
  • Familiarity with tactics to drive lead generation, prospect profiling, budget cycles and the deployment of mass communication
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with proven success in cold pitching, developing persuasive written and verbal communications, presenting, and collaborating in a team environment
  • Highly organized with an orientation towards customer service that prioritizes timely, clear, thoughtful, respectful responses to internal and external stakeholders from all backgrounds
  • Proven experience building multifaceted sponsorships that include elements such as employee volunteerism, program support, events, cause marketing, social media, or others.
  • Ability to balance managing multiple high priorities at once, negotiating, and thinking creatively in sponsorship development
  • Thrives in a dynamic and innovative environment; comfortable effectively prioritizing workload to meet tight deadlines and goals
  • Data-driven; possesses strong skills in analyzing where opportunity exists and able to suggest creative tactics to leverage those opportunities
  • Ambitious and goals-driven, proactive and self-motivated; you follow-through with projects from start to finish
  • Desire to learn and grow; team player with a flexible, creative, and analytical approach to problem-solving
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, maturity, positivity, and confidence
  • Experience with Salesforce or equivalent CRM
