OUR MISSION: Foster Nation supports and empowers youth aging out of the foster care system to become self-sufficient adults by providing resources, social support, and mentorship. Our goal is to help foster youth transition from foster care to career or college to career.

This Program Manager role works toward the development, design and implementation of Foster Nation’s programs. This will include program operations, designing and implementing programs that support the organization's mission and vision, as well as management of other programs staff.
· Utilizes a client relationship management (CRM) or another system to organize information and facilitate outreach communications, perform forecasting, and measure the performance of programs.
· Implements marketing and development strategy to identify potential donors or funding sources and conduct outreach initiatives.
· Collaborates and develops new community and corporate partnerships to ensure that special events publicize the organization and its programs to the community and support its goals.
Expectations
· You’ll collaborate with the Executive Director to ensure we meet our impact goals and objectives
· You’ll tailor your manager role and style to work in the context of our all-remote team, ensuring that the team collaborates well with asynchronous communication
· You’ll collaborate with various nonprofit partners, government entities, and corporate sponsors and donors to create the best experience for every stakeholder involved, especially our young people
· You’ll play a key part in the evolution and iteration of our organization, programs, and culture
· You’ll inspire entrepreneurship in every person on your team
· You’ll foster a safe space for your team, where they’re comfortable sharing feedback and change they see as necessary
Skills & Talents
Important Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree; MSW degree preferred
· Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in child welfare systems and/or non-profit operations; experience with the foster care system is preferred
· Experience in supervision & management of others
· Proficient in Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Slides) and Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
· Must have access to transportation and be able to travel throughout LA County
· Willing to travel as necessary for projects
· Willing to work weekends on occasion (as needed for program events)
Must-Have Skills & Talents:
· Experience in management of program data, basic modeling, and CRMs (Salesforce)
· Ability to take initiative and pursue objectives with minimal supervision
· Strong interpersonal, presentation and written and verbal communication skills
· Curiosity (always open to learning and feedback)
· Resourcefulness when it comes to creative problem-solving
Preferred Skills & Talents:
· Demonstrated skills at building collaborative partnerships
· Demonstrated experience at managing multiple assignments effectively
· Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Figma, Creately) and technique
· Some experience with project management tools (Slack, Asana)
· Knowledgeable of the issues related to the foster care system, including homelessness, low-income housing and community development, state and local policies, social service delivery, community development, mental health services, etc.
