The Senior Sustainability Consultant will play a key role in client engagements reporting to the Executive Vice President of Operations with coordinated oversight and direction by the project directors leading the projects supported.

The Senior Sustainability Consultant provides expert guidance, insights and support on client projects. The individual supports and collaborates with project directors and project team members by conducting advanced research and analysis, providing assessments and recommendations, and performing tasks within their recognized areas of expertise.

We are an agile and growing team. The ideal person in this role comes with deep experience working with companies on their ESG disclosure journey, using leading standards and frameworks, is also a must. This position involves a lot of multi-tasking, coordination of many details and communication with a range of ISOS Group clients and team members. Successful candidates will be self-motivated, organized and flexible with meticulous attention to detail and follow-through. They will also comfortably shift between working independently and collaboratively in a virtual environment.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering services to our clients in areas including needs assessments, project planning, interviewing, research and peer benchmarking, materiality assessment, disclosure and report reviews, report and disclosure development, data calculation and management, policy development and strategy development
  • Helping design, plan and facilitate engagements, such as project meetings, working sessions, presentations, focus groups and client reviews
  • Preparing project deliverables, such as research findings, reports and summaries, disclosures and metrics, policy documents and presentations
  • Assisting with support project coordination and management activities, as needed
  • Building subject matter expertise in one or more areas
  • Contributing to ISOS Group training and educational initiatives, including supporting the delivery of training courses
  • Working on operational, research and strategic initiatives to help us strengthen how we deliver services, develop new offerings and achieving our strategic objectives

Specifics will vary based on each project assignment. Details of the responsibilities will be discussed with project directors and project managers when requesting the individual’s participation on specific projects.

Qualifications

Education Requirements

  • Master’s degree or some graduate-level coursework is preferred
  • Certifications and other credentials in the area(s) of expertise are preferred

Ideal Qualifications

  • 10-plus years of related professional experience in sustainability, ESG or related field; working from within an organization as the point person assigned to sustainability efforts will be prioritized
  • In-depth knowledge of sustainability reporting and the leading sustainability and environmental, social, governance (ESG) standards, frameworks and schemes
  • Experience implementing greenhouse gas accounting, climate-related risk assessment and goal/target setting techniques aligned to various standards/frameworks, is essential

Successful candidates will possess the following:

  • Motivated self-starter who can balance priorities and work quickly across multiple workstreams in a dynamic environment
  • Advanced in Microsoft Excel (e.g., formulas, data manipulation, pivot tables, etc.), familiar with data visualization and data presentation tools and best practices
  • Ability to work in virtual settings and a variety of cloud-based systems
  • Strong people skills, with a proven ability to build trusted working relationships
  • Effective written and oral communicator who can convey complex information in a clear manner
  • Collaborative team-oriented style with strong facilitation and an affinity to train and coach others

Salary & Benefits

The good faith salary hiring range for this position is $90,000 to $125,000 per year. Please note hiring ranges for candidates may differ based on education and experience.
