About
My career has been shaped by one consistent throughline: using people-centered storytelling to build trust in complex, high-stakes environments. From working as an educator and a writer in conflict and post-conflict settings, to leading content and marketing efforts at humanitarian organizations, to serving as a strategic communications advisor for a 10-country democracy and governance initiative at USAID, I have learned how to translate sensitive, technical work into narratives that move people toward shared goals.
I come with deep experience on both sides of the content equation. At Preemptive Love and Search for Common Ground, I worked in marketing roles; first as a staff writer, then as a content marketer, and eventually as a content manager, building campaigns, managing editorial calendars, and creating donor-facing content that drove engagement and support. At USAID, I shifted into strategic communications, addressing partner governments’ communications challenges, which earned recognition from regional leadership. That dual background allows me to bridge content marketing and strategic communications naturally, ensuring that storytelling serves both adoption and credibility.
I know how to uncover success stories, even in tense or polarized contexts. Shortly after the October 7 attacks, while listening to a program manager describe our work in Gaza and in mixed cities across Israel and Palestine, I realized there was an important story going untold. Internally, there was deep discomfort and disagreement about how, or whether, to communicate this work. I advocated for a careful, human-centered campaign rooted in multi-partiality, acknowledging profoundly different perspectives without flattening them, while still insisting on common ground. I led the creation of a long-form blog post and accompanying marketing email content that respected those sensitivities while clearly articulating impact. One private donor cited that content directly when making an $80,000 contribution. That outcome was the result of deliberate narrative stewardship in a high-risk environment.
I have also led brand perception shifts at scale. When Search for Common Ground acquired Preemptive Love, the two organizations brought very different donor bases and political sensibilities. My role was to help create a shared brand voice that did not alienate either audience. I developed content and campaign strategies that honored Preemptive Love’s non-political, faith-rooted supporters while introducing Search for Common Ground’s values in a way that built curiosity rather than resistance.
Beyond individual stories, I build systems. At USAID, I created communications infrastructure and communities of practice with implementing partners to surface stories, align messaging, and reduce burden on program teams. At Search for Common Ground, I led capacity-building workshops for communications and program staff, helping team members articulate impact and collaborate more effectively across functions. This work reflects my ability to set up repeatable pipelines that make good storytelling easier and more sustainable.
Finally, my background as a writer and actor gives me a particular strength in capturing voice. Ghostwriting and thought leadership come naturally to me because I am practiced at listening closely and translating someone else’s intent, tone, and values with integrity. I have authored talking points for the former USAID Administrator Samantha Power and Deputy Administrator Isobel Coleman for media interviews and high visibility public events.
I look forward to speaking with you about how my strategic mindset, communication skills, and ability to collaborate cross-functionally and cross-culturally can best serve your needs. Thank you for your consideration.
