About
Angi Yoder Maina, Ph.D., is a research and innovation leader with 28+ years designing governance frameworks and healing-centered systems transformation across fragile contexts in East Africa, West Africa, and the Balkans. She currently directs the Resilience Institute for Strength and Empowerment at Florida State University and founded Green String Network, where she developed the Wellbeing and Resilience Framework achieving 68% wellbeing improvement and sustaining independently across four countries for 7+ years. Her governance architecture has been adopted by Kenya, Somalia, and Sierra Leone governments, influencing $500M+ in programming, and she has managed $200M+ in USAID programs with rigorous compliance and adaptive management. A Kenyan-American diaspora returnee bringing 30+ years of international experience to institutional leadership, she is author of "Healing is What Makes Peace Work" (Springer Nature, 2022) and recognized expert on trauma-informed organizational practice and community-led solutions.
