About
Hi, I'm Gordon. It's great to e-meet you!
For the last decade, I've developed and applied mixed-method research skills to uncover how psychology and technology interact to create societal trends. My expertise lies in synthesizing complex data and translating it into actionable insights, a skill honed during my doctoral degree and while volunteering as a UX researcher.
My research has always aimed at understanding the psychological roots of complex societal problems. For example, my findings have shed light on the answers to questions like "Why does negativity pervade social media, despite most people disliking it?" and "Why is democracy faltering, despite most people liking it?". Answering these questions helps satisfy my curiosity about human psychology but more importantly, it promises to solve problems and improve lives.
More recently, I've shifted my goals to a career in UX Research, where I can continue to build on and apply my research skills while learning about and advocating for people. I'm early in this transition but I've already learned to make an impact: As part of a team of UX researchers, we improved a website's design and content to be clearer and more accessible, thereby helping the site's mission to promote more inclusive, diverse work environments.
I look forward to a career integrating my skills in rigorous research and analysis with my passion for addressing real-world issues through user experience design and research. If you'd like to be part of my journey, don't hesitate to reach out!
