About The Job

SHE-CAN is seeking a full-time Development Coordinator to join our growing team in the San Francisco Bay Area. This person will work closely with the development team to manage donor engagement, initiate and write grants, and provide support for other fundraising tasks and events.

SHE-CAN (Supporting Her Education Changes A Nation) is a global non-profit organization that builds female global leadership in post-conflict countries. We help passionate young leaders win scholarships to U.S. colleges and universities, provide them with leadership training, and pair them with U.S. mentor teams who help them thrive in college and launch change-agent careers at home. To date, we have helped 119 young women from Rwanda, Cambodia, Liberia, and Guatemala win $27M+ in full scholarships at top U.S. colleges. You will be part of a growing and dynamic team that will produce some of the world's next great female leaders and change agents.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Spearhead and manage all outreach for current and prospective donors for the SHE-CAN Gala – Revolution 2.0
  • Spearhead the identification and application process for grant funding
  • Assist in drafting a broad range of materials for current and prospective donors including media outreach, end of year letters, on-line campaigns, etc
  • Administer the development department’s usage of Salesforce to track donor correspondence, donor relationship activity and keep background information up-to-date and actionable
  • Generate and manage revenue estimates and donor reports.
  • Assist in developing the Fundraising strategy

Ideal Candidate

  • Great Writer: Adept at crafting personable emails and media messages
  • Numbers Oriented: Adept at working with numerical data, spreadsheets and tables
  • Salesforce or CRM Savvy: CRM experience is required, and ideal candidate is experienced and comfortable with Salesforce/CRM data management
  • Detail Oriented: Extremely organized when creating reports, donation totals, email drafts, and other materials
  • Eager to Manage own Tasks: Self-starting, entrepreneurial and creative, with ability to recognize opportunities and communicate goals and objectives clearly

  • Bachelor's degree required

Benefits and Compensation

  • Hours: This is a 40-hour-a-week, salaried position, Monday-Friday, 9:30-5:30. Note: The in-person aspect of this job is non-negotiable and is essential for effective collaboration. Candidates must live in the San Francisco Bay Area within a reasonable commute time of our office. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required, but we strive to keep this to a minimum.
  • Compensation: The salary for this position ranges from $66 - 68K annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
  • Benefits: Our benefits package includes free parking, 15 days of annual paid time off, flexible days and recovery days after significant events to ensure employees return fully recharged. We offer Qualified Small Employer Health Reimbursement Arrangement (QSEHRA) where SHE-CAN provides a monthly healthcare tax-free reimbursement of $200 and an IRA savings plan through Icon Savings Plan.
