Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
  • Lead and manage the annual financial audit, maintaining a proactive approach.
  • Collaborate with organizational leadership to align financial solutions with operational needs.
  • Develop and enforce procedures, processes and internal controls for accurate and cost-effective accounting operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in business administration, finance, or accounting; CPA preferred, not required.
  • Ability to interpret and present financial information considering various audiences financial information in accessible ways for a team with varying degrees of financial skill, to inform collaborative planning, prioritization, and strategic decision-making.
  • Minimum eight (8) years of accounting experience, with non-profit industry experience preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a commitment to equity and inclusion.

Compensation and Benefits

PICO California is committed to diversity in its staff and offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits, which include the flexibility of a hybrid role, 100% employer-paid health, vision, and dental for staff members and dependents, in addition to a robust 401k plan. Generous paid time off, including holidays, to complement our supportive and collaborative culture. The salary range for this role is $110,000-$125,000.
