Job Summary

The Planned Giving Manager is part of the Development and Donor Relations (DDR) fundraising team. The Manager is responsible for supporting the development of long-term relationships with advisors, Sartori Circle members and prospective members, and members of the public interested in learning more about CCF. This includes providing “moves management” support to the Planned Giving Officers as well as fielding inquiries, managing a portfolio, and managing research, marketing, and event planning projects.

This position requires an individual who can prioritize and multi-task while maintaining a high level of client service. It also requires an individual who can identify and offer solutions to isolated and systemic problems.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Advisor and Donor Fundholder Engagement: Develops and strengthens long-term relationships with an assigned portfolio of existing advisors, donor fundholders, and Sartori Circle members. Collaborates with department and foundation members to leverage opportunities, build awareness, develop value-added engagement, and facilitate meaningful engagement experiences for these audiences.

Business Development: Generates new business for CCF by providing top-level customer service to prospective donors, advisors, Sartori Circle members, donor fund holders, and the public. Responsibilities include answering inquiries, gathering, and communicating information, drafting proposals for new funds, and drafting letters of testamentary intent.

Stewardship: Manages and implements projects relating to stewarding donors, Sartori Circle Members, and advisors. Responsible for monitoring scheduling, timelines, and key deliverables

Research: Manages the scope and execution of research projects, including prospect/donor research, non-profit organization research, research into complex assets, and oversight of all research involving DDR strategy and prospecting initiatives. Also coordinates research to support business development and/or donor stewardship.

Marketing and Communications: Contributes to the development and execution of the department’s marketing materials. Focuses on promoting CCF’s products and services. Provides support for events for advisors, prospects, donors, and/or Sartori Circle members.

Database/Document Support: Coordinates with Donor Operations record interactions in the database. Plans and oversees regular reports for the Planned Giving Department. Ensures all documentation is saved in RE and in the appropriate folder.

General: As appropriate, assists other departments and works as a member of interdepartmental teams to ensure the effective and efficient operations of CCF. At all times, demonstrates cooperative behavior with supervisors and coworkers. Other duties as assigned, dependent on organizational needs and employee skills.

Provides a high level of customer service across the Foundation.

Relationship support, scheduling & meeting follow-up

Supports the DDR department with administrative support

Supports other duties as assigned by management

Timely and accurately responds to requests and inquiries from across Foundation.

Job Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree and/or applicable sales/fundraising experience is preferred.

3-5 years of experience in a donor relations, alumni relations, or similar setting preferred.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

Project Management: Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to prioritize work and adjust to multiple demands. Demonstrated ability to follow tasks through to completion in a timely manner.

Communication and Relationship Skills: Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills. Superior and proven customer services skills. Ability to secure the confidence of top donors and prospects through long-term relationship building activities to facilitate contributions to donor funds and CCF initiatives.

Teamwork and General Skills: Ability to work well independently and as a team member. Ability to take initiative and follow tasks through to completion.

Technology Skills: Internet competency and strong computer proficiency, including mastery of the Microsoft Office software suite and a familiarity with database software, is required. Experience with client management databases is preferred. Willingness and ability to learn appropriate database, spreadsheet, and other computer programs.

Starting salary range: $77,900.00-$83,000.00/annually

This is a hybrid position, requires (4) days per week in-office, (1) day per week remote.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

  • Requires the ability to sit and work at a desk for several hours at a time.
  • Requires the ability to travel and attend meetings, presentations, and events outside the office, which may require occasional use of a motor vehicle for transportation to other locations.  
  • Work may require occasional weekends and/or extended workday.
  • Punctuality and satisfactory attendance are essential functions of the job.
