The Role
The Account Supervisor will lead media strategy across a portfolio of purpose-driven clients, translating complex ideas into compelling narratives and executing smart, nimble campaigns that earn attention and spark influence.This person will serve as the day-to-day client lead, driving strategy and execution while cultivating strong, trusted relationships with both clients and media.
We’re looking for someone who is fluent in the news cycle, deeply curious, and able to connect the dots between big ideas and timely coverage. The ideal candidate has a track record of landing impactful media across formats, from traditional outlets to podcasts and digital verticals, and thrives in a fast-moving, high-touch environment.
Key Responsibilities
Media Strategy + Execution
● Drive media relations efforts for a range of clients, identifying smart angles, outlets, and moments to build visibility and influence.
● Draft and refine tailored pitches that resonate with journalists and align with campaign priorities.
● Cultivate and maintain relationships with key reporters, editors, podcast producers, and other media decision-makers.
Client Leadership + Stewardship
● Serve as the primary day-to-day client contact, ensuring clear, proactive communication and managing expectations.
● Lead client calls and meetings with confidence—setting agendas, guiding discussions, and translating direction from senior leaders into actionable next steps.
● Stay attuned to client priorities and flag opportunities to strengthen momentum and impact.
Campaign Development + Collaboration
● Work closely with DEY. senior leaders to help develop narratives, refine media strategies, and shape materials (press releases, op-eds, Q+As, media briefs).
● Manage timelines, deliverables, and workflows to ensure high-quality execution that aligns with client goals.
● Collaborate with and provide guidance to junior staff, helping to strengthen their media skills and execution.
Work Environment
This position is primarily remote but requires regular in-person meetings with the team, journalists, and clients, as well as occasional travel. For this reason, candidates must reside in the tri-state area, with a preference for those based in New York City.
Qualifications
● 5-7 years of PR or media relations experience, ideally in a communications firm or purpose-driven organization.
● Must reside in the tri-state area, with a preference for those based in New York City.
● Expertise in media relations, including tier-one outlets and emerging formats.
● Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and project management skills.
● Ability to work independently, anticipate needs, and adapt quickly.
