As a legacy of the 1984 Olympic Games, the LA84 Foundation is a nationally recognized leader in support of youth sport and play and elevating the importance of sports in positive youth development. Since its launch in 1985, LA84 has invested millions in the communities that supported the Games, reaching more than 3 million youth throughout Southern California, from Santa Barbara to San Diego County.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Coordinator to support the Director of Social and Community Impact in executing high-impact community initiatives, with a strong focus on youth sports and engagement in the Los Angeles area. This role is ideal for someone who thrives behind the scenes, is a natural connector, and can manage multiple tasks with speed and precision. Enthusiasm for joining a dynamic team focused on youth sports is a plus. This new position is an integral member of the Impact Team and will offer critical support to achieve the organization's high-impact goals. This position will report to the Director of Social and Community Impact.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing major community events and activations.
  • Draft communications, reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain and update databases related to community partners, event logistics, and impact metrics.
  • Attend and support community events, ensuring smooth operations and positive engagement.
  • Liaise with local organizations, schools, and youth sports groups to build and maintain relationships.
  • Track and report on program outcomes and community feedback.
  • Support budget tracking, vendor coordination, and logistics planning.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in event planning and community engagement.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with CRM systems or databases.
  • Knowledge of the Los Angeles community, especially youth sports and local organizations.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed for events.
  • A team player who takes initiative and responds well to direction.
  • Exceptionally well-organized and a strong ability to prioritize.

Working Conditions:

  • General office environment, depending on health and safety precautions. May be temporarily a hybrid remote/in-office environment depending on manager and work responsibilities.
  • Physical demands include lifting and moving equipment and supplies up to 25 pounds, visual acuity in reviewing detailed computer records, physical requirements related to sports activities and periodic travel.
  • Occasional weekend, late afternoon, and evening hours.

Benefits and Salary:

Medical, dental, Vision, life, 401k, paid holidays, floating holidays, winter holiday office closure. This is a non-exempt role, with compensation ranging from $30- $36/hour BOE, eligible for overtime.
