About Probable Futures

Probable Futures is a non-profit climate literacy initiative that operates as a fiscally sponsored project of The Resiliency Company, a 501(c)(3) non-profit. Probable Futures makes climate science accessible and understandable so that everyone, everywhere can think about climate change in practical ways and prepare for what’s to come. Probable Futures’ goal is for climate considerations to become an integral part of the decisions people make every day—at home, at work, and in their communities.

Reporting to the Content Director, the Digital Media Specialist will work to create high quality digital content for key channels and produce digital content for the Probable Futures online platform.  

The primary functions of this position include content creation and production across video, social, and email, blog post, and website copy. You should have proven experience in digital media creation, specifically video, be exceptionally organized, have high standards of work, excellent writing skills, and be able to create digital content with a voice and tone that is in keeping with the Probable Futures style guide.

This is a full-time, salaried position that qualifies for benefits including health insurance, dental, 401k, and paid vacation. The role is fully remote with a preference for those located in the North East (USA).

Responsibilities

Primary: Create digital content for key channels:

• Social (Linkedin, Youtube) and Email
• Blog posts focusing on key topics in climate change
• Website copy (and potential other digital materials as needed)

Secondary: Support digital content

• Produce content within Wordpress
• Coordinate with product, design, and content teams to ensure brand consistency across channels
• Meet deadlines and use project management software to stay up to date on developments

Requirements and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years of proven work experience as a Digital Media Specialist or Digital Marketing Manager
• Strong video production and editing skills
• Strong written communication skills and attention to detail
• Experience with communication channels such as email, Youtube, podcasts, LinkedIn, and blog posts
• Familiarity with web design and content management systems
• Experience with Wordpress content production
• Proficiency with GSuite, Buffer, Airtable, and project management tools
• Understanding of climate change/climate science is a plus
• Excellent interpersonal and team collaboration skills, able to communicate with colleagues on all levels in a remote professional environment.

Compensation

• $60,000-70,000 salary range, dependent on experience and skills
