About Generation Pledge

Generation Pledge is a global community of inheritors from ultra high net wealth (UHNW) families who are dedicated to creating extraordinary impact. Members pledge to use their economic capital, as well as their social, political, and career capital to help shape a better world. The pledge includes a commitment to donate at least 10% of their inheritance within five years of inheriting, or within five years of taking their pledge if they’ve already inherited.

By taking the pledge, inheritors step into a community united by a shared commitment to use their wealth to create a better world. They also receive world class advisory and education services, fueling their journey towards transformative impact leveraging their different forms of capital.

We have expanded the scope of our work to better achieve our mission of shifting more private wealth toward building a flourishing future. While Generation Pledge remains a key part of our work, our small and deeply committed team is building four interconnected entities:

  • Generation Pledge: Global community of inheritors dedicated to impact. (Described above.)
  • Polycapital Academy: Impact and wealth education. We offer education to wealth holders and wealth adjacent professionals on how to effectively leverage private wealth to have a large, positive impact on the world. This work is done in partnership with Green Templeton College at the University of Oxford.
  • Polycapital Advisors: Impact and wealth advisory. We offer tailored advisory services to support individuals and families in designing and executing high-impact strategies.
  • Regeneration Bank: Private banking services.

We are a small team of ten with a big vision for impact. We have a can-do culture, are highly dynamic, and value exceptional standards of quality in our work. Each of us is deeply committed to impact and work energetically to fulfil this calling through Generation Pledge.

About the Role

We’re hiring a Director of Communications to shape and execute how we communicate who we are, what we offer, and why it matters, across our four entities and key audiences. This includes Generation Pledge, as well as our educational offering (Polycapital Academy), our impact advisory services (Polycapital Advisors), and Regeneration Bank. This person will lead and execute our brand architecture, communications strategy, and relationship-driven marketing efforts to enhance visibility, clarify offerings, and support the growth of new and existing initiatives.

Because we are a small and highly ambitious team, this role requires both strategic thinking and high-quality execution. You’ll need to move fluidly between shaping big-picture messaging and executing it through clear, compelling writing in newsletters, sales decks, websites, and event materials. In partnership with our impact team, you will also play a key role in translating our technical impact methodology and rigorous thinking into messaging that feels approachable, clear, and inspiring to the audiences we serve. You will be responsible for communicating both the rigor with which we approach impact and the bold vision we hold for how capital can be used to build a flourishing future.

Our work is rooted in trust, and so is our network. As we support ultra high net wealth individuals and the professionals who advise them, our marketing efforts are about relationship-centred engagement that builds resonance and understanding. You'll ensure our offerings reach the right people in ways that feel thoughtful, clear, and aligned.

This is one of our most exciting and important hires this year. We are in a key moment of growth and this role will shape how our organisation shows up in the world with a compelling voice and clarity to fuel our mission of redirecting private wealth towards building a flourishing future.

Responsibilities

Communications & brand strategy

  • Design and steward a cohesive brand architecture across our four entities (Generation Pledge, Polycapital Academy, Polycapital Advisors, and Regeneration Bank), helping the leadership team define how they relate to each other.
  • For each entity, establish the key messaging and voice to articulate the unique value proposition, while ensuring coherence across the entire organisation.
  • Define and maintain our organisational tone, brand voice, and language across entities.
  • Develop and implement a strategic communications plan that outlines who we engage with, for which purpose, when, how, and on which platforms.
  • Deepen trust within our existing networks and thoughtfully extend our public presence to adjacent communities via a relationship-driven engagement strategy.
  • Identify and prioritise key communications platforms (e.g., website, LinkedIn, newsletters, conferences) to effectively reach both existing and new networks.
  • Help determine when, where, and how much of our highly technical impact methodology to communicate.

Content creation and execution

  • Write and edit high-quality, values-aligned content that communicates our rigor and vision. This includes:
    • Website copy (you might have noticed ours is under construction!)
    • Newsletters
    • Sales and fundraising decks
    • Event materials
    • Social media content (especially LinkedIn)
  • Translate our highly technical impact methodology into accessible, compelling messaging tailored to different audiences and channels.
  • Ensure every touchpoint is consistent with our tone, values, and brand identity.
  • Collaborate with the impact team to evaluate the effectiveness of communication efforts and apply learnings to future strategies.

Some of the expectations for the first three months

  • Immerse yourself in our organisation, actively engaging with our mission, theory of change, impact methodology, and values to be able to confidently write and speak in our current voice across audiences.
  • Familiarise yourself with our four entities (Generation Pledge, Polycapital Academy, Polycapital Advisors, and the Regeneration Bank), conducting a full review of existing messaging across platforms and materials.
  • Clarify distinctions and overlaps between entities and propose an initial strategy for brand architecture.
  • Develop and write core external messaging for each entity, including website copy.
  • Jump into live communications needs from your first week, contributing to ongoing outputs like newsletters, decks, and event materials.

What we’re looking for

  • 7–10+ years of experience in brand strategy, communications, or marketing, ideally within impact-driven, philanthropic, financial, or private wealth adjacent organisations.
  • Demonstrated success developing and implementing multi-brand or sub-brand strategies in growing or evolving organisations.
  • An exceptional writer and editor: Able to translate complex, technical, and rigorous ideas into clear, emotionally resonant, and compelling copy for a range of audiences.
  • A deep understanding of how language shapes perception and action. We’re looking for someone obsessed with linguistics and narrative framing, and how both influence decision-making.
  • Experience crafting values-aligned communications that build trust in high-stakes, relationship-centered environments.
  • A commitment to intellectual rigour and truth-seeking. You care about precision and being grounded in what’s real, even when it’s complex or uncertain.
  • Familiarity with communications in the UHNW, philanthropy, finance, or impact investing spaces; a background in journalism or marketing could be especially relevant.
  • A working knowledge of the principles of effective impact (such as cost-effectiveness, counterfactual thinking, and systems change) and familiarity with cause areas like climate, global health, animal welfare, and tax justice.
  • A practiced curiosity and compassion that shows up in your writing, in your tone and ability to empathise with what others are experiencing. Our work supports a specific group of people navigating profound questions about wealth and responsibility, and your writing should reflect an attunement to their perspective and lived-experience.
  • Strong strategic thinking paired with a doer’s mindset. You can shape a narrative arc, develop a plan, and then write the deck or newsletter to make it real.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, highly collaborative, and organised.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced environment. You can prioritise, pivot, and produce with clarity and speed.

Why you’ll want to work at Generation Pledge

  • We’re at a pivotal stage of growth with real potential to significantly increase the flow of capital toward the most effective ways to improve the world. You’ll play a central role in shaping how we show up at this critical time.
  • Join a team that’s both ambitious and kind. We care deeply about impact, and how we show up for each other. You’ll be joining a thoughtful, values-driven group of people who are supportive, generous, and collaborative.
  • Opportunity to work remotely and opportunities to travel to conferences and team gatherings.
  • A learning-rich environment. You’ll engage with cutting-edge thinking in effective impact, systems change, and values-led leadership. We support your growth with opportunities to stretch your skills and expand your thinking.
  • Work within an organisation that is truly aiming to get two things right: the positive impact we can have in the world and the way we get there with our team, pledgers, partners, and future clients.
  • We deeply value moral integrity and that guides our work on all levels.
