PFLAG National has over 550,000 members and supporters and over 350 chapters in the United States. This vast grassroots network is led by the Chief Executive Officer, and cultivated, resourced, and serviced by the PFLAG National staff, Board of Directors, and Regional Directors Council. Currently, PFLAG National has a staff capacity of 31 FTEs who reside in Washington DC and fourteen states; over half of these work fully remote from its headquarters. PFLAG National has a labor agreement with the OPEIU Local 2, AFL-CIO and has a favorable relationship with its employees.

Position:

The Senior Coordinator, Corporate Philanthropy works with the Development & Philanthropic Partnerships Department and other staff to meet PFLAG National’s fundraising goals. This position is an integral part of the team responsible for securing mid-sized corporate support through national partnerships, corporate foundation grants, event sponsorships, and other co-branding opportunities. PFLAG National currently has over 75 global and national corporate partners and event sponsors, and a pipeline of potential partners through its Straight for Equality in the Workplace learning program. We are looking for someone with great experience, tenacity, and a vision for how to grow this already successful corporate philanthropy program.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage the development of strategies for soliciting and maintaining mid-sized corporate gifts ($5,000 - $49,999) with the Director of Major Gifts & Corporate Philanthropy and other relevant staff or board members;

- Develop and deliver well-written, impact-driven, story-focused, compelling partnership proposals and reports for corporations in collaboration with relevant staff or board members;

- Prepare gift acknowledgments and complete administrative duties associated with the research, preparation, and delivery of proposals and reports in a timely manner;

- Proactively research and directly solicit corporate prospects for new funding opportunities;

- Solicit sponsorships and ensure the success of partnership-centered events such as advocacy, fundraisers in DC, corporate appreciation events in NYC, the biennial National Convention, and other events as needed;

- Manage day-to-day communication with corporate contacts;

- Ensure the fulfillment of corporate sponsorship benefits, invoicing, partnership agreements and maintain an accountability tracking mechanism of deliverables;

- Maintain and update corporate contact records and track solicitation/prospecting status in donor database;

- Build, expand, and maintain an internal calendar of corporate renewals and report deadlines;

- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Major Gifts & Corporate Philanthropy.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in nonprofit fundraising or philanthropy;

- 3+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, particularly in corporate relations and/or major gifts;

- Demonstrated success in soliciting five- to six-figure corporate and/or major gifts;

- Well-organized and detail-oriented with a collegial working style;

- Comfortable working with remote employees;

- Understanding of current corporate diversity and inclusion practices and trends;

- Knowledge and experience with grassroots membership organizations is a plus;

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and work independently on a variety of tasks simultaneously;

- Knowledge of donor/CRM databases;

- Knowledge of LGBTQ+ issues, DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion) and accessibility practices, and civil rights as a whole;

- Enthusiastic support of PFLAG’s strategic priorities, vision, mission, and organizational values;

- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and writing skills; effective communicator inperson, virtually, and over the phone;

- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with donors; and

- Must be able and willing to travel as needed.

This position is part of a bargaining unit represented by the Office and Professional Employees International Union, Local 2, AFL-CIO.

Salary: The salary range is 65,536 - 76,207 commensurate with experience, expertise, and other qualifying factors.

Position Type and Work Hours: This is a full-time role, typically Mon-Fri, 8 hours per day. This is a hybrid position, requiring a minimum of 2 days per week in the DC office.
