Role Purpose
We are seeking a talented, enthusiastic and team-oriented Graphic Designer to join Choose Love’s Communications Team. You will play a crucial role in delivering design materials for the whole organisation, from social media assets and website design to print materials, invites, cards, reports, and Choose Love Shop designs. Choose Love’s communications are rooted in powerful and exciting design, building on our logo gifted by Katharine Hamnett. We are always evolving our designs to keep our communications cutting through the noise and landing strong messages, while staying consistent to our core brand. The perfect candidate will be creative, collaborative and passionate about supporting refugees globally.
Key Responsibilities
Graphic Design:
- Maintain and evolve Choose Love’s visual identity and design standards
- Design visually compelling social media and campaign assets, print materials, website design, reports, event invites and more
- Develop infographics and visual representations of data to communicate complex information in an accessible manner
- Create designs that centre the voices of displaced communities and share Choose Love’s impact
- Update and share brand guidance across the organisations, and work with external partners as and when required
- Develop creative concepts and visual identities for campaigns, events, and social media
- Manage multiple design tasks simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines
- Prepare design files for print and digital publication, ensuring accuracy and quality control
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices
- Continuously enhance your skills and share knowledge with the team to elevate Choose Love’s creative capabilities.
- Manage and organise Choose Love’s photography library, in collaboration with the Operations Manager
- Use design to create engaging storytelling and amplify the voices of displaced communities, and Choose Love’s partners’ work
- Work with the team in Figma, and manage the organisation’s figma account, training colleagues when necessary
- Contribute creative ideas to the communications team’s work.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to gather feedback and make necessary revisions.
- Create design-led video assets where/when required
Essential Criteria:
- Proven experience in graphic design, with a strong portfolio showcasing your creative abilities and understanding of visual storytelling.
- Experience designing for both print and digital platforms
- Expert in Figma, Illustrator and other design software.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) and graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Strong understanding of branding principles and the ability to apply them to design projects.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Desirable Criteria:
- Experience in the nonprofit sector or with humanitarian organisations
- Knowledge of motion graphics and animation
