About the Role
We are recruiting a Senior Sustainability Consultant to lead our climate risk and resilience offering, providing strategic, technical, and commercial leadership on climate-related risk assessments, resilience strategy, and adaptation planning for our real estate clients. Drawing on an in-depth understanding of climate change, physical and transition risk, and the built environment, you will independently lead complex client engagements, grow the client relationships and pipeline behind this offering, and mentor our junior consulting staff.
What You Will Do
Business Development & Client Relationships Lead pursuits for both new and existing clients, including proposal preparation, technical approach development, budgeting, and commercial negotiations. Participate in client presentations, workshops, and client development activities.
Technical Expertise & Subject Matter Leadership Interpret climate regulations and standards such as TCFD, ISSB, and CRREM, and advise clients on the regulatory implications and risk exposure they create.
Innovation & Thought Leadership Delivery Excellence Independently lead large, complex climate risk and resilience projects, staying accountable for quality, timelines, and client satisfaction.
Identify and manage delivery and commercial risks, and build playbooks, toolkits, and standard resources the wider team can use.
Team Leadership & Talent Development
What You Will Need
Experience: 6+ years in climate risk, resilience, or sustainability consulting, including 2+ years leading project teams and managing people.
Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required; Master's degree in sustainability, economics, business, or a related field preferred.
Technical Skills & Tools: Strong background in climate-related risk assessments, net-zero carbon strategies, and climate-related reporting frameworks (e.g., TCFD, ISSB, GHG Protocol). Experience with tools such as CRREM, SBTi, and MACC analysis. Proficiency in climate modelling software is beneficial but not required.
Innovation: Track record of developing new approaches, tools, or methodologies in climate risk, not just applying existing ones.
Communication: Ability to analyse and communicate technical information clearly to varied audiences, challenge assumptions, forecast future trends, and articulate the value of climate resilience to businesses.
Languages: Fluency in English; a second language (French, Dutch, Italian, Spanish, etc.) is a plus.
