Internship Assignment

The Intern will provide operational and administrative support to the investment operations team in the front office of the Office of the Chief Investment Officer (OCIO). S/he will have the opportunity to learn and expand her/his experiences by providing assistance in project pipeline management, strategic investment planning and implementation, project-specific accreditation, and administration of Secretariat investment committees.

Under the overall guidance of the designated primary and alternate supervisors within the OCIO, the Intern is expected to:

Assist with monitoring and data analysis of the GCF project pipeline in support of its prioritization and management;
Support implementation of GCF’s strategic plan and annual work programme through drafting workplans, analysing and projecting pipeline data, and contributing to departmental reports to senior management and the Board;
Aid the effective functioning of the Climate Investment Committee and Operations Committee, including circulating agendas, arranging meetings, following up on the decisions of the committees; and
Support other strategic and corporate priorities of the OCIO, including analytical and logistical support of cross-Secretariat change initiatives, as requested.

Requirements and qualifications

Enrolled in bachelor’s program in International Relations, Law, Finance, Economics, Public Policy or related fields;
Knowledge and experience with analysing complex problems, data and processes; and coordinating collaboration between multiple stakeholders;
Ability to multitask and deliver within tight timelines, while demonstrating attention to detail;
Good understanding and experience in operations of international organization is an added advantage;
Proficiency in using standard software programs: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access;
Excellent writing and presentation skills;
Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of another United Nations language, in particular French and Spanish, and/or Portuguese is an advantage.
