The Impact & Partnerships Manager plays a vital role in advancing Chiefs for Change’s philanthropic, ecosystem engagement, and impact measurement efforts. Reporting to the Chief Impact & Partnerships Officer, this role operationalizes and executes development strategy through strong systems, processes, and cross-functional coordination.

The Manager leads grant sourcing and proposal development, supports the design and maintenance of internal development systems, and ensures strong stewardship of the current grant portfolio through effective reporting, compliance, and funder engagement. Working closely with cross-functional teams across programs, communications, and finance, the Manager helps connect program outcomes with fundraising and donor engagement, ensuring proposals, reports, and partner interactions reflect CFC’s commitment to equity, transparency, and results-driven leadership.

Your Role in Our Success

Grant Sourcing, Design, and Management

Lead the organization’s grant prospecting and proposal development process to grow and sustain a strong pipeline of philanthropic partners.

Lead proactive foundation and corporate grant prospecting, identifying new funding opportunities aligned with Chiefs for Change’s strategic priorities.
Conduct donor research and prospect analysis, synthesizing giving history, funding priorities, and alignment indicators to inform targeted outreach strategies.
Maintain and manage a grant opportunity pipeline, tracking prospect stages from sourcing through submission and award.
Draft and develop letters of inquiry, concept notes, and full grant proposals in partnership with the CIPO and program leadership.
Manage proposal project timelines, coordinating inputs from program, policy, finance, and communications teams to ensure cohesive submissions.
Compile and review all proposal materials including budgets, attachments, work plans, and supporting documentation.
Lead quality control and final submission of grant applications, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to funder requirements.
Monitor upcoming funding opportunities, RFP releases, and foundation deadlines to inform proactive submission planning.

Grant Compliance, Delivery, Stewardship, and Reporting

Support effective grant management and stewardship by ensuring timely reporting, compliance with funder requirements, and clear communication with philanthropic partners.

Support CIPO with programmatic delivery and management of new and existing grant funded projects.
Support CIPO with Grant Contractor processing, onboarding, management, and compliance.
Develop and manage the organization’s grant reporting calendar, tracking interim and annual reporting deadlines and required deliverables.
Coordinate cross-functional input to develop grant reports, impact narratives, budget updates, and performance summaries.
Draft and submit interim and annual grant reports, ensuring alignment with funder expectations and organizational outcomes.
Track grant payment schedules and revenue recognition milestones, ensuring alignment with finance and program teams.
Prepare funder updates, briefings, and stewardship communications in collaboration with the CIPO.
Maintain documentation related to grant agreements, compliance requirements, and reporting obligations.
Support preparation for funder meetings, updates, and partnership briefings, including assembling relevant materials and insights.

Internal Systems Design, Development, and Management

Strengthen internal development infrastructure by building and maintaining systems that support efficient grant tracking, donor engagement, and development operations across the full-grant cycle.

Serve as a key thought-partner and implementation partner to the CIPO in the design and development of key departmental strategies, systems, and operating functions.
Maintain the organization’s development pipeline tracking system, ensuring accurate stage movement, opportunity documentation, and revenue forecasting visibility.
Manage CRM and donor database tracking, including funder profiles, interaction history, grant records, and relationship management notes.
Develop and maintain core development assets, including proposal templates, case materials, donor briefs, and grant submission resources.
Track and organize prospect research, donor intelligence, and strategic engagement notes to inform cultivation strategies.
Generate pipeline and development performance summaries to support internal planning, board relations, and leadership updates.

Requirements

Your Expertise and Impact

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Communications, Business, or a related field required.

Experience:

Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in nonprofit fundraising, grants management, or impact measurement roles (education or philanthropic sectors preferred).

Technical Skills:

Proven track record of successful fundraising campaigns and donor cultivation.
Strong understanding of donor stewardship principles and grant management.
Demonstrated success supporting complex grant portfolios and funder relationships.
Strong familiarity with grant and donor management systems, and sponsorship tracking tools (e.g., Salesforce, Asana, or other similar CRM tools).
Highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable working in a remote environment.
Proficiency in donor management systems and fundraising tools.

Leadership and Communication:

Strong ability to manage projects, resolve conflicts, and build collaborative working environments.
Excellent writing, editing, and data synthesis skills.
Ability to foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including donors, board members, and corporate partners.

New hires are placed at the starting point of their assigned proficiency level, based on experience and internal equity across comparable roles. Compensation at Chiefs for Change is standardized and not subject to negotiation, ensuring fairness and consistency across our team.
