Position Summary

Liberation Ventures is seeking a detail-oriented, highly adaptable Operations Manager to play a key role in maintaining internal systems and supporting organizational infrastructure. This fully remote position is ideal for a systems-minded, hands-on professional who thrives behind the scenes—someone who can move fluidly between strategic thinking and tactical execution, and who takes pride in building the operational backbone that enables collective success.

The Operations Manager will lead the day-to-day implementation of core functions across finance, vendor and contract management, systems administration, people operations, and special projects. This role reports to the Vice President of Operations and works closely with program staff, external partners, and the broader team to sustain and strengthen the infrastructure of a fast-growing, mission-driven organization. This is an opportunity to help power a national movement for racial justice by making reparations common sense and common place, ensuring the systems behind that work are strong, equitable, and aligned with LV’s vision of a multiracial democracy rooted in repair.

Why This Role

Operations at Liberation Ventures isn’t just about keeping the trains running—it’s about building the tracks for the future we want to live in. This role is ideal for someone who is energized by structure and strategy, and excited by the chance to build systems that align operations with values at every level. The Operations Manager will have the rare opportunity to design and sustain internal infrastructure that doesn’t just support the mission—but embodies it. This is not a back-office role in the traditional sense. It’s a front-row seat to one of the most urgent and visionary social movements of our time. From reimagining how we compensate and care for staff, to aligning vendor relationships with our values, to ensuring our infrastructure is as liberatory as our vision—this is a chance to do operations differently.

For the right person, this is a unique opportunity to:

  • Stretch and grow within a nimble, ambitious organization committed to deep learning and rapid iteration
  • Translate values into practice by designing operational systems that align with our belief in liminal space—that our internal structures should be as imaginative and bold as the future we’re fighting for
  • Engage directly with the reparations movement, gaining behind-the-scenes insight into one of the most critical racial justice efforts of our time
  • Work alongside a deeply committed team that values care, transparency, rigor, and joy in equal measure
  • Help shape what’s next for our institutions and society, rather than defending the status quo

We’re looking for someone who sees systems as a canvas for justice—who finds meaning in making things work well, and who knows that liberation is in the details.
