The Climate Justice Standard Lab(CJS Lab) is a mission-driven initiative advancing equitable, community-lednatural climate solutions. We work in partnership with Indigenous Peoples andlocal communities to develop methdologies, tools, and financing models that centerjustice, sovereignty, and ecological integrity.
RoleOverview:
We are seeking aProject Coordinator to support the day-to-day operations of the Climate JusticeStandard Lab. This role involves coordinating logistics, administration, andbudget tracking across both project work and the development of methodologiesfor equitable, community-led natural climate solutions. The ideal candidate isdetail-oriented, proactive, and aligned with the CJS Lab’s mission to advanceclimate justice through nature-based approaches.
Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate logistics (scheduling, working group support, travel planning).
• Manage timelines, task tracking, and internal communications.
• Support budget tracking, invoicing, and contractor payments.
• Assist with documentation and grant reporting.
• Maintain organized systems for shared files and workflows.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in any field or equivalent experience.
• Experience in project coordination, operations, or nonprofit administration.
• Familiarity with budgeting and basic finance (e.g., tracking expenses, invoices).
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Proficient in programs like Google Workspace, Zoom, Asana, Airtable, and shared drives.
• Spanish proficiency is required.
We will review applications on a rolling basis.
Compensation: $20-$30/hour, depending on experience
Position Type: Part-time Independent Contractor (~20 hrs/week)
Location: Remote (California–based preferred but not required)
Start Date: September 1, 2025 or earlierDuration: 6–9 months, with potential for extension
