Japan: JPY 7,419,048 - 9,184,165
Singapore: SGD 72,981 - 97,048
South Korea: KRW 58,079,192 - 76,646,655
India: INR 1,699,304 - 2,559,206

If the successful candidate is outside of these countries, the salary and benefits will be adjusted based on local market equivalencies.

About the Project

Asia is the front line of the global energy transition - and the stakes couldn't be higher. The region holds 81% of the world's operating coal capacity and hundreds of millions of people suffering from expensive and unreliable electricity, yet at the same time is home to some of the world's fastest-growing solar markets and a booming clean tech manufacturing base.

The Asia Clean Energy Finance project focuses on accelerating the shift to customer-owned renewable electrification (CORE) with a focus on south and south-east Asia. We believe that households, businesses and communities becoming their own renewable power producers is the fastest, most inclusive and most financially sustainable route to achieving the clean energy transition. We do this by working with partners across civil society, government and the finance sector, to unlock affordable finance, reduce the cost of capital and build enabling policy environments for distributed clean energy.

About The Role

This is a new role to support the Asia Clean Energy Project, providing operational and campaign support to the project team, which aims to shift finance to accelerate the renewable energy transition in Asia. The role will work closely with the Asia Clean Energy Finance Lead and program team, enabling the team to function smoothly and be more than the sum of its parts. The role will support a number of high-level initiatives, including an Executive Taskforce for Solar Industry Association Strengthening. 50% of your time will be dedicated to supporting the Taskforce.

Key Responsibilities

Manage budget systems for key initiatives of the Clean Energy Project, including tracking expenses and maintaining up-to-date forecasts, adjusting allocations based on actual spending. Serve as the team’s primary resource for budget questions, and create reports for the Clean Energy Program stakeholders including leadership, the Board, and other operational teams.
Facilitate budget conversations with the leadership team and support the Executive Taskforce Program Manager on budget management for that initiative;
Oversee the program's contracts, including hiring and onboarding contractors;
Project manage and track key Clean Energy Project grant-making processes. Communicate with new and existing partners to collect necessary documents for the grant process. Prepare consistent grant dockets and memos for review;
Organise and manage virtual and in person meetings including venue booking, travel support for the project team and Executive Taskforce, and scheduling for both internal and external stakeholders;
Support Project Lead on cultivating a positive and effective team culture, creating and maintaining a team charter, supporting team growth and professional development;
Provide support on a variety of special projects as needed to help the team hit campaign goals;
Align own work and OKRs with programmatic strategies and Sunrise’s mission.

Required Skills and Experience

Significant experience in project coordination, programme management, or operations ideally within a clean energy, climate or international development context in a similar or related role including unpaid, grassroots or lived experience;
Proficiency in Asana or equivalent project management software and Excel/Google Sheets; comfortable working with financial management systems.
Demonstrated ability to establish & manage multiple workstreams and competing priorities with professionalism and care.
Experience coordinating multi-stakeholder processes across different countries and time zones.
A track record of budget tracking and financial administration;
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills; additional languages relevant to Asia are an asset.
A passion for climate action and a deep commitment to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Desirable Skills and Experience

Demonstrated experience with Hubspot or similar CRM for stakeholder tracking and reporting
Experience setting up activity tracking dashboards
Familiarity with grant management, contracting, or compliance processes
Experience in group facilitation
Additional languages relevant to our programmatic work in Asia (e.g Mandarin, Bahasa Indonesia, Urdu, Bengali)
