Position Summary: Governance, Compliance & Trademark Specialist
Impact Hub Network is looking for a Governance, Compliance & Trademark Specialist to support the integrity, accountability, and legal stewardship of the global network of Impact Hubs. This specialist role focuses on performance and governance processes, compliance with network protocols and membership requirements, and the protection and management of the Impact Hub trademark portfolio worldwide.
The role combines analytical rigor, governance coordination, and trademark management to ensure that Impact Hubs operate in alignment with network standards while safeguarding one of the network’s most important shared assets: the Impact Hub brand and trademark.
This position works at the intersection of Network Success, Finance, and Brand & Communications, ensuring consistency, transparency, and risk-aware decision-making across the network.
Our vision on Governance, Compliance & Trademark Stewardship
As a globally distributed network of independent organisations, Impact Hub relies on strong governance, transparent standards, and responsible use of the shared brand to maintain trust and long-term sustainability. Compliance is not about control, but about safeguarding the collective integrity of the network and ensuring fair, consistent application of shared agreements and protocols.
Trademark stewardship is equally central: the Impact Hub brand is a shared global asset that requires proactive registration, monitoring, and protection to enable each local Hub to operate with clarity and legal security. By combining governance processes, performance insights, and trademark management, this role contributes to a trustworthy, accountable, and resilient global network.

- Coordinate closely with the Finance Committee, Regional Boards, and Membership Committee on compliance-related matters
- Ensure consistent documentation, tracking, and follow-up of all governance and compliance cases

- Compile and analyse strategic data insights to support executive decision-making on governance, learning support, and compliance actions
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of accountability applied across the network
3. Dedicated Performance Support & Follow-up
- Coordinate with Impact Hub Care to support the implementation and monitoring of performance improvement plans for Impact Hubs
- Follow up the 1:1 support initiatives aligned with governance and compliance outcomes
- Ensure alignment between governance signals and broader network support mechanisms
4. Trademark Management & Protection
- Coordinate the registration of new trademarks, renewals, and maintenance of the global trademark portfolio
- Track and manage trademark-related budgets in coordination with the Finance function
- Work closely with Brand & Communications on brand compliance, infringement cases, and third-party claims
- Monitor adherence of Impact Hubs to trademark protocols and ensure required documentation of commercial use
5. Trademark Protocol Implementation & Monitoring
- Ensure that Impact Hubs comply with trademark-related requirements under the Membership Agreement and network protocols
- Verify evidence of genuine commercial use of the trademark, including:
- Invoices and contracts linked to trademark classes
- Promotional materials demonstrating commercial use
- Service descriptions aligned with registered classes
- Turnover generated under the trademark
- Data sheets evidencing services delivered, when, and to whom
- Maintain clear records and documentation trails supporting trademark protection and renewal processes
