Profile: Project & Development Associate
Contract: Limited for 12 months, with a possibility to extend

Criteria: Candidates should have the right to work in Austria at the time of appointment and for the entire duration of the assignment (non -EU citizens must attach the respective working permit to the application)
Salary: Starting at 2.000 EUR net per month, paid 13 times per year for an annual gross salary of 34.913 EUR subject to Austrian social security contributions, currently free of income tax due to the Foundation’s legal status.

The Ban Ki -moon Foundation is seeking a motivated and internationally minded Project & Development Associate who is eager to contribute to global initiatives supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Climate Agreement.
The final job designation will be determined based on the selected candidate’s depth of experience , relevant previous working years and professional qualifications.
This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands -on experience in an international policy and program environment while working with a small, dynamic team connected to global leaders, international organizations, and civil society and government partners. It provides a valuable entry point for careers in international organizations, foundations, NGOs, or global policy institutions.
The ideal candidate is passionate about the Foundation’s mission and willing to take on a variety of responsibilities in project management, organizational, and administrative tasks.
All employees are personally responsible for obtaining any required visa for Austria and for complying with local laws including residency registration (valid residence permit). Individuals will need to provide proof of their nationality, residency and working rights as well as their degrees upon request.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
The Associate serves as a versatile allrounder, providing direct support to the CEO and senior management on strategic priorities as well as other team members in project related tasks.
Fundraising & Partnerships
• Contribute to the evolving development and implementation of the organization’s fundraising strategy led by C-level.
• Support and conduct proposal writing to international donors including government entities, philanthropic entities, EU grants, private sector donors and support other development activities as required under leadership of C -level management.
• Conduct research to identify and map new funding and development opportunities and maintain an internal database for potential partners and opportunities to guarantee consistent follow -up.
• Support the technical coordination of grant proposals including coordination with external partners, drafting sections, gathering team inputs to meet tight deadlines and overseeing the internal and external review processes.
• Work closely with senior management to administer high -level meetings, including calendar management, organizing logistics, drafting briefings and background research on potential partners.
Project Management
• Support the coordination and execution of BKMF projects as needed and time permitting (e.g., scholarships, mentorships etc);
• Support the organization of programmatic events (virtual or physical), from logistics to partner cooperation, drafting summaries and outcomes ;
• Assist the team and COO in monitoring deliverables and evaluating the impact of the Foundation’s initiatives ;
• Draft stories, briefs, and social media assets to feed to the Communications team.
Competencies:
Required:
• 1- 2 years of f unding proposal writing experience and experience in basic project management skills.
• Excellent language skills in English.
• Reliable team member with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Interested in working on gender equality, quality education, the environment and sustainable development.
• Service orientation and diplomatic demeanor.
Desirable:
• 1- 2 years of experience with partnership management and governmental and/or philanthropic fundraising.
• 1- 3 years of experience in working in NGO/IO environment and ready to work in a dynamic and international environment.
• German and French language skills.
• Good organizational skills and experience managing >15 pax events and meetings.
• Technical skills: Zoom, MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams), OneDrive, ability to use Canva.
• Communication skills: drafting articles, presentation slides, concept notes, social media posts .
The Ban Ki-moon Foundation (BKMF) is also open to appointing a Senior Project and Development Associate on a competitive basis for candidates demonstrating advanced expertise and relevant experience.
What we offer:
We are offering a full -time position (40 hours per week) located at our office in Vienna, Austria. The position offers a monthly net salary starting at 2.000 EUR (paid 13 times per year) , corresponding to an annual gross salary of 34.913 EUR. Due to the Foundation’s legal status, the salary is currently exempt from Austrian income tax , with only standard Austrian social security contributions applied.

The Role: Your daily work will involve using a laptop for desk -based tasks and communicating through phone or online meetings. Our office is on the second floor and is fully accessible by lift. We offer the option to work from home for up to 100 days per year.
