About Adamant
Canada's information landscape has been disrupted by fossil fuel misinformation. The world is at a technological tipping point, where today the clean electrified economy outperforms fossil fuels on nearly every economic metric, yet in Canada it goes under funded. As our governments double down on sunset industries, we risk missing the most important market opportunity of the century. That is what we are adamant about.
Adamant is a new organization built to win the economic argument for a clean economy and break fossil fuel industry influence over energy policy and our culture. We are not a traditional think tank but partner with economists, policy experts, and researchers to translate their work into accessible content that actually reaches people, referencing real stories, pop culture, and new channels to connect with audiences where they are today. We aim to build a movement that demands better choices for our future.
About the Role
We're looking for a bold storyteller and strategic communicator to join Adamant as our first Communications and Narrative Director. Reporting to the Managing Director, you'll own content and story, starting hands-on by building our social media presence from the ground up and translating complex economic research into compelling content. You'll lead a small team of content creators and take on broader strategic responsibilities including media relations and narrative framework development. This role is for someone passionate about the clean economy and who isn't afraid to challenge fossil fuel misinformation, and help Canadians see and feel what a cleaner, safer, and more innovative economy looks like.
What You'll Do
Build the foundation (months 1–3)
- Write, shoot, and publish content across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn, working with our digital media agency
- Interview researchers and economists in our wider network and turn their analysis into posts, videos, and stories people actually want to share
- Pitch Adamant's research and angles to journalists, podcasts, and newsletters to build earned media coverage
- Reach out to influencers, creators, and aligned voices who could carry our content to new audiences, and build a content sharing network with them
- Establish Adamant's narrative voice, messaging frameworks, and content standards
- Build and run a content calendar featuring clean economy stories and economic insights
- Engage directly with comments, replies, and conversations to grow community around Adamant's channels
Scale and lead (months 4–6+)
- Build and manage a team of 2-3 contract content creators
- Lead Adamant's narrative and communications strategy across all channels
- Develop rapid response capacity to counter fossil fuel industry messaging and respond to policy announcements in real time
- Pitch and place stories with media, podcasts, and partner organizations to expand reach beyond owned channels
- Create narrative frameworks and messaging guides that position Adamant as a trusted voice on clean economy economics
- Manage supporter and stakeholder communications, including email engagement
- Grow and elevate website content and digital presence
Who You Are
You're a fearless storyteller, passionate about a better world, and drawn to work that challenges powerful interests rather than put off by it. You are a passionate advocate for what you believe in and understand how content and culture are created and shared in digital spaces. You are a maker and a promoter, unafraid to turn the camera on yourself and put your work out there. We value hunger and lived experience as much as years in a job title, and welcome applicants from communities most impacted by fossil fuel dependence and climate change.
