ABOUT US
Meteorite is trusted by leading companies, foundations, and institutions to mobilize industries, align stakeholders, and deliver impact that lasts. We design and operate coalition infrastructure — from governance design and partner recruitment to ongoing operations — and we stay in the work long after the launch.
We created and lead two of the largest nonpartisan private-sector coalitions in the country: the Health Action Alliance, focused on workforce health, and U.S. Business Action to End HIV, focused on mobilizing employers to help end the HIV epidemic. We also work with partners to design strategies, produce original research, and run accelerators and convenings that move business leaders from awareness to action.
Our work takes on issues where progress depends on getting the right people in the room — from women's health issues like menopause policy, to extreme weather preparedness, to workforce mental health. We build the structures and networks that make collective action possible, and we build them to last.
ABOUT THE INITIATIVE
Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the U.S., and one of the largest drivers of employer healthcare costs. Nearly half of American adults have high blood pressure, and many of them do not know it. The tools to change that already exist — screening, benefits design, prevention, and treatment — but no one has galvanized the private sector to commit to action around them.
The Health Action Alliance is building the first national business coalition to do that work. We spent much of 2026 in discovery: interviews with clinical leaders, patient advocates, benefits consultants, and company health leaders; research on what employers are already doing and where the gaps are; and a public employer briefing on early findings. The coalition launches publicly in early 2027, and will include peer learning cohorts, an employer resource hub, an advisory board, named company commitments, and an annual convening.
The platform, the member offer, and the governance structure are all still taking shape, and the person in this role will help decide what they become.
THE ROLE
Meteorite is seeking a Director, Program Strategy to lead the day-to-day strategy, growth, and operations of our new heart health coalition. This is a high-visibility leadership role — you'll own the strategic roadmap, manage sponsor and partner relationships, and drive the coalition's programming and engagement from pre-launch through its first years in the field.
The ideal candidate can run a complex, multi-partner program end to end: building relationships with corporate partners and health leaders, designing convenings and cohort experiences, guiding a team, and translating public health priorities into language that moves businesses to act. You understand how companies think, communicate, and make decisions, whether you learned that inside a company or by spending years partnering with them. You don't need to have a background working in the field of cardiovascular health, but you need to care about this issue and be ready to champion it with conviction.
Heart health is your focus, and as our portfolio grows, your responsibilities may evolve with it.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
This role is broad and dynamic. You'll lead across five areas, with the understanding that on any given week, the balance between them shifts.
Build the Coalition’s Strategy and Platform: You own the roadmap for engaging businesses on heart health. That starts with translating discovery findings into a clear platform, a set of priorities, and a compelling member offer. You'll set objectives, drive measurable outcomes, identify and recruit prospective companies, lead pitch conversations, and participate in developing proposals and securing funding.
Manage Partner and Member Relationships: You're the primary relationship holder for funding partners and corporate members. That means regular check-ins, tracking deliverables, and making partners feel supported. You'll also serve as a trusted advisor to member companies, helping them use benefits design, screening, and workplace programs to close real gaps in heart disease prevention and care.
Convene and Activate the Field: You'll design and host virtual and in-person events — peer learning cohorts, employer briefings, coalition convenings, and conference presence at gatherings like SHRM and WorldatWork. You'll manage an advisory board of clinical leaders, patient advocates, public health leaders, and benefits experts, and you'll synthesize their feedback, research, and field data to keep the coalition's goals and messaging aligned with what employers and patients actually need.
Run the Program: You'll manage a small team of internal colleagues and external consultants, and maintain the program budget. We’re looking for someone who is focused on strategy but committed to operational excellence as well.
Shape Communications and Content: You'll oversee member communications — newsletters, stakeholder outreach, LinkedIn — and guide the development of employer-facing resources, benefits guidance, and toolkits tied to moments like American Heart Month. You'll work with our Editorial Director on content strategy and briefs, and represent the coalition publicly when the moment calls for it.
WHAT YOU BRING
We're looking for someone with a distinctive mix of business acumen, mission commitment, and operational excellence. The five qualities we're prioritizing are:
Business Fluency with a Mission Mindset: You understand how companies think, communicate, and make decisions, and you know how to translate public health goals into language that resonates with corporate partners. You bring 7+ years of experience in program strategy, corporate communications, business development, employer engagement, public affairs, social impact, or a related field.
Knowledge of or Interest in Heart Health: You don't need to be a public health expert, but you care about this cause — and ideally have some familiarity with how employers approach chronic conditions, benefits, and prevention.
Relationship Builder and Trusted Advisor: You communicate proactively, follow through on commitments, and make partners feel seen and supported. You're equally comfortable leading a high-stakes sponsor conversation, running a member meeting, and building trust with clinicians and patient advocates.
A Strategist Who Gets Things Done: You can develop a strategy and implement it. You're not above drafting the deck, sending the follow-up email, or updating the tracker. You're comfortable building something that doesn't exist yet, and you thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift and no two weeks look the same.
Exceptional Communicator and Storyteller: You're a strong writer and a confident speaker. You can take complex information — clinical data, member feedback, field trends — and turn it into clear narratives for audiences that range from C-suite executives to clinical and community leaders.
